Discover and enjoy the Urdenbacher Kämpe nature reserve!
Old meadow orchards, magical riverscapes, rare wet meadows, and the remains of an ancient riparian forest provide a home for highly specified plant and animal species. At the heart of the nature reserve lies Haus Bürgel, a former Roman fort later used as a manor house and farm that today houses a working horse stud, a Roman Museum, and the Haus Bürgel Eco Centre.
Follow the colour-coded nature trails to discover the nature reserve and be prepared to learn some surprising facts from the information panels and audio pods along the way.
Benches provided throughout the reserve invite you to contemplate the beauty of the landscape.

Sensible shoes
Please remember that the wetlands really can be rather wet and the paths muddy, so be sure to don adequate footwear!
Sensible dogs
Although it may seem a shame when you look at all that open space, please keep your dog on the lead at all times. Roaming dogs may disturb nesting birds and young hares in hedges and bushes, and foul the grass and hay meant for horses and cattle.
